Dwarka Expressway
DWARKA EXPRESSWAY also known as NPR Expressway (Northern Periphery Road) is the part of GURGAON MANESAR MASTER PLAN 2021/2025, which will connect Dwarka Delhi to Gurgaon.Starting from Dwarka Delhi and ending at NH8 (Gurgaon Expressway) near HALDIRAM. Dwarka Expressway (NORTHERN PERIPHERY ROAD) is going to be 150m wide that made it the widest expressway in the North India. The length of the Dwarka Expressway (Northern Periphery Road) is 18 Km and also encompasses 30m green belt on both the sides.
Northern Peripheral Road or commonly known as Dwarka Expressway is being developed under the public private partnership (PPP) model. This stretch will connect Dwarka with National Highway 8 at Kherki Dhaula and will pass Pataudi Road. The NPR stretch has been planned as an alternate link road between Delhi and Gurgaon.The NPR will also decongest Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway, particularly near Delhi-Gurgaon border toll plaza which has witnessed higher-than-expected traffic volume growth.. The road will also provide connectivity to the much-touted Reliance-HSIIDC SEZ besides the Garhi Harsaru dry depot.
likeDelhi, Gurgaon too will have a BRT corridor to decongest traffic on the NORTHERN PERIPHERALROAD.In several sections, the NPR will have provisions for the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridor to ensure smooth flow of traffic. The road will be fully developed in March 2012.
The Dwarka Expressway or NORTHERN PERIPHERAL EXPRESSWAY is an eight-lane, expressway being developed by the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) at a cost of Rs 120 crore. If one stays in Dwarka, he will no longer have to hit the congested NH8 before the Delhi-Gurgaon border and the toll bridge. The new link would be parallel to the expressway till it merges ahead of the IFFCO Chowk. The proposed expressway will touch 16 new nearby residential colonies and would also touch a commercial corridor and link with Harsaru dry port. With the land acquisition nearing completion and awaiting hearing from the court on demolition of some houses in Palam Vihar, the projects all set to provide new connectivity between Gurgaon and Dwarka and international and domestic airport. Much of the strategic development is along the metro corridors in the form of metro malls. The NCR plan has identified 9major corridors in transport network system with the prime objective of controlling growth of Delhi. Dwarka sub-city area abuts on two corridors i.e.Najafgarh, Jhajjar corridor & Gurgaon Corridor.
Accommodation in dwarka in Dwarka apartments & Dwarka flats has seen lots of appreciation in the lastfew years but property prices in dwarka have gone out of reach from the pocket of most of the people. The people working in south delhi and west delhi have been in search for luxury which they don’t get in Dwarka like club facilities and other basic amenities. Projects on Dwarka expressway has been the result of that search and all top builders & developers have opted for the Dwarka Manesar Expressway belt for the new residential projects as well as commercial projects.
Real estate developers are pinning their hopes on the ‘big link’ that will be established between Delhi and Gurgaon through the DWARKA-GURGAON EXPRESSWAY. The expressway work has also started in Sector 22 in Dwarka.
